Avar Kriss is a Jedi from the High Republic era.
Avar Kriss was a member of the Jedi Order considered a paragon by her peers and the citizens of the Galactic Republic alike. She grew up and was close with fellow Jedi Elzar Mann and Stellan Gios, the former of which she had a secretive romantic interest in. Like Gios, Kriss was a shining example of what a Jedi should aspire to be and was famous across the galaxy for her heroic deeds.
After saving the Hetzal system from imminent destruction at the hands of the Great Hyperspace Disaster, Kriss was proclaimed the "Hero of Hetzal" and named Marshal of Starlight Beacon, an enormous and advanced space station on the Galactic Frontier. She wielded a green single-bladed lightsaber and wore white-and-cream robes with a golden cape. Unlike the Jedi of the future, Kriss was compassionate rather than dogmatic. She was also willing to sacrifice herself in the stead of others, and found the challenges she faced on the galaxy's frontier invigorating rather then tedious.
