Aria is an asari and the self-proclaimed ruler of Omega. She has lived many years and has done a lot of things before her arrival on Omega.
When she arrived, it was under the iron-fisted rule of a krogan. They have ran the entire place together for over 100 years until he decided to try and dispose of her. They fought against each other and defeated him. She left the old krogan with a few broken ribs and 2 crushed hearts but very much alive. She kept him around as a trophy, using him as an example to anyone who opposes her and gave him the name Patriarch as a joke since the term does not exist amongst her kind.
She maintains a stern dominance over Omega and has struck fear into the hearts of many who would even dare to bring her down. Despite her being feared and hated by many, she has given her denizens a sense of freedom. She is also willing to provide some help and intel to those in need of it within her territory.
As the ruler of Omega, her only rule is "don't (mess) with Aria", although some have tried and failed, with each of them being met with extreme pregidious amongst those who are fiercely loyal to her, with immediate execution not being ruled out.
She is also known to be paranoid as she knows that there are many who are willing to challenge her dominance and want to take over Omega, such as the 3 mercanary factions of the space station, the Eclipse, the Blue Suns and the Blood Pack. She never takes treachery lightly and will punish those without hesitation, usually favoring the extreme method such as execution.
When Shepard met Aria, she was wary of him and had one of her subordinates scan him/her. If Shepard chooses to threaten to have the subordinate "scan the inside of his colon", she would mention that she would almost pay to see that as she does amuse in others' pain as well as violence. As soon as they were able to get down to business, Shepard asks her about 2 people that he/she intends to recruit for his/her mission, Mordin and Archangel (later revealed to be Garrus). When asked about Mordin, she mentions that she always liked him as he would be just as likely to heal someone as he is to shoot them, expressing his savviness towards firearms. When Shepard asked her about Archangel, she informed him that Archangel is already being hunted down by the 3 merc groups for making like difficult for the 3 groups, stating that he's both reckless and idealistic. She is also one of the few people in Omega who doesn't hate Archangel, unlike half of the population of the space station who wanted him dead. Her reason for not having it out against him was that he never went after her, also stating that she's happy to allow the different factions to kill each other as she never liked the 3 merc groups.
Despite her cold, standoffish demeaner and her apathetic attitude towards the issues amongst the population, she is shown to be grateful towards anyone who helps her out. She is not ashamed to reward them for doing things for her.
- One such would be when she asked Shepard to help protect Patriarch from those who would want to kill him due to him constantly blabbing secrets in his stories. Although, she had her subordinate provide the job for her, not wanting anyone to think that she had gotten too soft. If Shepard was able to protect him from his assaulter, she would reward Shepard with a little more of her backstory, something she understandably kept from Shepard.
- Another incident was when Shepard presented her with a datapad that confirmed that the 3 merc groups were planning on going after her after they were able to deal with Archangel, which predictably angered her. She happily rewarded Shepard for presenting that to her, which is something that he/she can turn down.
- Another incident involved a batarian bartender who had been poisoning humans as payback for what they did to his kind. Shepard can choose to confront the bartender and would either rally a nearby turian who is already aware of what he had been doing then shoot him in the neck, threaten the bartender to drink his own poison which would instantaneously kill him or spare his life in exchange for him promising to never do it again. To reward Shepard for dealing with the problem, a salarian bartender, the former's replacement, had been given instructions that all drinks given to Shepard are on the house from then on.
When Samara was able to trace her daughter, an Ardat-Yakshi who goes by the name Morinith, to Omega, Aria already had her suspicions as a young human girl was killed by her. Despite the horrible death, Aria did nothing to try and find the psychopath since she didn't try to go after Aria. But she did give out information to Shepard regarding where the girl she killed lived.
She is shown to be a very difficult challenge to receive secrets from as according to her dossier that's found in the Shadow Broker's base, she was able to capture one of his agents, having to find out who was and communicated directly through his captured agent that she's not so easy to pry any secrets from. Although, he did retrieve an email she sent to an entertainer regarding the Afterlife Planning Session Correspondence, indicating that either there is some intel that he was able to access from her or it's something that she doesn't necessarily care if others know about it.
The Fayelons Story[]

Aria made an appearance in the story after the fight on Fehl Prime. They arried on Omega to obtain some equipment for a special project that Mordin wanted to construct to help out the girls, equipment that could only be obtained from Omega. She happily provided them with the equipement, however, she asked them to deal with a problem with a gang that had been causing some trouble with her in exchange. The girls took care of the issue without hesitation, but as they were taking care of it, their Dark enemy intervened and made things difficult. Regardless, they took care of it and were on their way. During the fight, however, Aria had been watching everything from one of the hidden cameras throughout all of Omega.
When she first met the Fayelons, she found them to be very interesting to talk to as did the girls with her. She was very friendly and made them feel welcome as well as offered some leniency towards them, even when they were being snarky towards her, like Aera more than the others. She mentioned that she found chatting with them to be entertaining and really didn't care if they were defiant towards how they talk to her as long as it had nothing to do with her reign on Omega. In a weird way, the girls have also liked her even though they know that she's not necessarily a nice person, but she was at least friendly towards them. She does want them to help her out whenever she needs them to use their powers for her but promises to never misuse their abilities or her power over Omega to demand obediance from the girls. Again, she doesn't really care as long as it doesn't cause any issues with her reign over Omega.
