Ampharos

Ampharos is the final evolutionary form of Mareep. It is a pure Electric type Pokemon that is evolved from Flaaffy.

However, it also has a Mega Evolved form which can make it into a dual Electric/Dragon type Pokemon.

It loses all of its wool when it evolves, but when it Mega Evolves, it gets its wool back.

Its name is a combination of amp, a measure of electrical current and pharos, which is Greek for lighthouse. It may also be a corruption of amparo, which is Portuguese and Spanish for aid and protection, referring to its role as a living lighthouse. The name may also incorporate amph-, a prefix from the Greek term for both or on both sides, in reference to the two red orbs on its head and tail. Its body shares a similar shape to an amphora, as well as a similar name.

The light from Ampharos' tail is so bright and strong, it can be seen from space. This is why you can always tell exactly where it is, which is why it usually keeps the light off. It has been prized since long ago as a beacon for sailors.

Ultimate Story

Krystal owns an Ampharos. It is one of her best Pokémon and one of the few that she can Mega Evolve.

Phase 4

Lydia owns one as part of her Johto Team which she picked to counter her starter's weakness to Water Types and to use against Lincoln when they friendly battle due to him having the starter's advantage
