1x1x1x1 was a test account that was created by Shedletsky, the latter then started rumors about 1x1x1x1 being an evil hacker. Many rumors speculate that 1x1x1x1 was a hacker or leader of an exploitative group. Although the rumors about 1x1x1x1 have long been debunked, many users continue to believe them, along with the John Doe and Jane Doe rumors. Players think that he became active again after Roblox released updates, which further increased fears that "1x1x1x1 is back and will hack everyone". With the popularity, Roblox has made references to him in media and events. He is one of the overarching antagonists of LOTM: Revolution Montage, where he serves as a minor character of the second episode, Spectacular, one of the two final antagonists of the third episode, Conflict, and the deuteragonist of the fourth episode, Fallen. He is also an antagonist of LOTM: Legacy of Robloxia.

In the third episode, Conflict, nearly at the end of the song, 1x1x1x1 reveals to SMP that he has not yet proved himself worthy of the star savior. At the end of the song, when SMP wanted to go back, 1x1x1x1 and John Doe decided to make a deal by sending him back, turn Pomni into a human, and later they will help, ending the song afterwards as SMP is sent back to Earth.

1x1x1x1 care for 2x2x2x2 since they know each other for a long time. He likes it when 2x2x2x2 sometimes calls him big brother or older brother.
